What makes us all different, what unites the majority to do the same, what makes some extraordinary?
When I was younger I narrowed success, happiness, and relationships as being results of luck (mostly). Nonetheless, after a few years of throwing myself into adulthood: work experiences, traveling alone, knowing and learning from other cultures, I started to realize that success is achieved and not a mere consequence of luck.
After reading Vishen Lakhiani’s ”The code of the extraordinary mind,” I started to realize that simple mindset changes, and daily practices are the key to getting the life you want.
After leaving a promising career he hated, Vishen Lakhiani found himself broke; nonetheless, a few years later he became the owner of Mindvalley, a multi-million dollar education company that offers teaching programs on mindfulness, personal growth, meditation, health and fitness.
“The code of the extraordinary mind” teaches readers the condensed and precise steps that allowed Vishen to turn his life around and go from a broke and lost young adult to a successful man with a net worth of over 100 million dollars.
The book is divided into four sections, which break down common societal conceptions, allowing you to notice patterns that form concepts we consider to be sacred: such as why do marriages always have to end so badly? After presenting these patterns and ideas, the author teaches you how to break these rules and create new ones that will work for you.
Through Lakhiani’s stories, the genres of autobiographies and self-help blend in such a way that makes you feel like he is having a conversation with Lakhiani; rather than reading a book.
Before reading the book I was skeptical that tips and tricks as simple as tricking my subconscious into believing who I want to be through meditation, would be life-changing. Nonetheless, implementing daily practices as such definitely made me a much happier and successful person.
This New York Times bestseller is perfect for anyone who wants to read a genuinely concept-changing and notion-making book that blends interesting short stories, such as the time he spent a week in an indigenous tribe which had no concept of society, contemporary theories, such as the religion of humanism.
“The code of the extraordinary mind” has helped millions to change the way they perceive the world and switch their realities.
